Father Sillers founded St. Mary’s to prepare our students for the inevitability of a more globally connected world… one that is intellectually diverse, interconnected by technology and perennially in flux. His dream was to transform students into global citizens who, when tested, would find strength from their St. Mary’s foundation.
Father’s vision has strongly resonated with families throughout St. Mary’s 30-year rich history. St. Mary’s is a diverse community speaking many languages, believing in varied religions and ascribing to different cultural beliefs. Because of our foundation, vision and values, in 2007, St. Mary’s became an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School Organization. Today, we are the only independent school in Orange County to incorporate the IB curriculum from preschool through Middle School.

Physical Education & Health: Students need the opportunity to learn skills without intimidation and to experience the joy and exhilaration of physical activity. This philosophy drives our program and it is our hope that all students learn to enjoy movement, become fit and value a positive living mindset.
Library/IB Hub: In addition to a large print selection of picture books, fiction, non-fiction and reference materials, the IB Hub features several digital resources and subscription databases for students to conduct research in more than 1,000 full-text periodicals.
The IB Hub houses a world languages collection which features books and realia from more than 20 countries. Included in the collection are the MYP Language Acquisition Porgramme languages, Spanish, French and Mandarin.
Athletics: Our philosophy is simple: work hard, develop lifelong skills, be competitive and have fun. Athletics teach us much more than X’s and O’s. Student athletes learn new skills, develop healthy habits, take risks and learn how to cooperate and interact with others. These are lifelong skills that not only benefit athletes now but help them on their quest to become successful global citizens.
