St Cyprian’s School for Girls, nestled on the slopes of the iconic Table Mountain, is a values-driven, family school with a shared educational vision designed to build knowledge, develop skills, and prepare students to face the challenges of an ever-changing world. The high school offering comprises two rigorous academic streams for senior students. The Independent Examination Board (IEB) and Cambridge A Levels are positioned synergistically, carrying equal importance and value in how teaching is structured, time tabled and delivered.
Individual, student-centric academic counselling and nurturing is ongoing to support students in their personal choice of which stream to pursue in the senior phase. By offering two distinct streams, our offering considers students’ circumstances and intentions around post-school academic selection, in South Africa or internationally, at foreign universities.
The junior phase (Grades 8 & 9) is referred to as the General Education and Training (GET) Phase and Grades 10-12 comprise the Further Education and Training (FET) Phase. If pursuing the IEB stream, the final matriculation examinations culminate in the IEB National Senior Certificate being written at the end of Grade 12. Final Cambridge-exit level examination results in A level certification at the end of Grade 12.

Boarding at Katherine House: Katherine House remains a special gift at St Cyprian’s School. Weekly / termly boarding is offered for 55 girls from Grade 8 through to 12. A tight – knit community, the girls experience a positive sisterhood, led by caring, experienced staff and the Grade 12 student leadership team.
Boarding is particularly attractive to girls who immerse themselves in school life, who maximise school opportunities on campus and who wish to experience communal living.
The boarders represent a close, thriving community within the broader school community. Through the experience of boarding, they display independence, self-management,
resilience and leadership.
