IB Authorisation: We are proud to announce that as of last week the International School of Ticino has officially become an IB continuum school authorised to offer PYP, MYP, and DP, guaranteeing IB education for children from 3-18/19 in the Ticino Region. The International School of Ticino is the only IB continuum school in Ticino and worldwide research proves that attendance at an IB continuum school can lead to higher achievement at the DP programme. In doing this the school has joined an elite group of 5000 schools.
Facilities: Classrooms are centred on enabling learning. They are bright, spacious, well resourced. Each classroom has the most up to date and relevant technology to blend traditional and technological learning, to ensure excellence. The state of the art gymnasium is equipped with facilities for football, basketball, volleyball and a host of other sports activities. The early years learning space behind the school and the large playground in front of the school is ideal for playing, outdoor sports and open-air learning activities.
An Inspired School: International School of Ticino is a proud member of Inspired, a leading global premium schools group operating in Europe, Asia-Pacific, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America educating over 70,000 students across a global network of more than 80 schools. Founded by Nadim M Nsouli, Inspired offers a fresh and contemporary approach to education by re-evaluating traditional teaching methods and curricula and creating a more dynamic, relevant and powerful educational model.
Principal: Andrew Ackers
Here at the International School of Ticino we place the student at the centre of all we do to facilitate them to become lifelong learners. We achieve this through our school culture, which is rooted in the IB Mission statement, which states:
The International Baccalaureate® aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
The school opened as a kindergarten in 2014, as a feeder school to the International School Como in Italy, which had been in operation since 2002. The school was established to offer the local and international residents of Ticino an IB education. As of 2017, the International School of Ticino joined the education group Inspired, who educates over 4500 students in 67 schools worldwide.
